The Death of a Dream
I dreamed: “I was going to be this…all my life, I wanted to become…I used to be…there was a time in my life when…but - then life happened...that person, who dreamed…is dead.”
No no – the person of your past, the dreamer, the world changer – that person never died. Life doesn’t kill your dream; choices you’ve made don’t destroy who you were destined to become. On the contrary – life MAKES your dream come to pass, but only if you don’t give up on it.
“But my decisions, my mistakes – I don’t deserve to be the man/woman I wanted to be. It could never happen to me now!” False.
In reality – none of us deserve ANYTHING: life, dreams, joy, love – but we are GIVEN them freely in Jesus. And His price that He paid – His death AND resurrection: THIS makes those dreams we had ours for the taking. They’re already bought and paid for – and no one can take them away from us – except ourselves.
The enemy will lie and steal and attempt to make us believe that our dreams are forever lost in a whirlwind of mistakes and circumstances –his strategies never change – lies are still lies, which means that there is an opposite to those lies: there is a truth. If the enemy says you can’t, then you can; if the enemy says it’s impossible, then in reality – it IS possible. All things are possible in Jesus – but do you want it? It’s there for you: waiting for you to seize it. Life hits, and when it does, it hits hard – but it CANNOT take away your destiny – only YOU can if you decide to believe a lie. DON’T believe the lie. Reach out and take what is yours – your dream, your vision, your passion of old is now seasoned with the fragrance of trials and disappointments, the crushed petals of life’s troubles – these become the foundation and aroma for the dream you always had, the person you always wanted to become – that joyful life you intended to have from the days of your youth, the happiness and fulfillment of being the person you saw yourself becoming – that IS who you can be – in fact, that person in your dream is you after you’ve OVERCOME the struggle you see before you now.
Your dream is in your future – that dream is not dead; it’s only sleeping – go and awaken your dream.
