A Psalm of Praise
(Hello friends! For one of my classes, I was required to write a psalm in the Hebraic format of either a praise or lament. I wrote one of praise, and thought I'd share it. Happy New Year everyone!)
A call to worship:
Praise be to my God, my Rock, and my Redeemer!
Praise be to the One, Who sits on the throne of heaven.
Description of God’s acts or character traits:
For my God has fulfilled His promise to me.
He has rescued me from the snare of death.
He has enveloped me in the furrows of His robe of Righteousness.
He has redeemed me from the pit of destruction.
When I was the scorn of my neighbors,
The shame of my teachers and guardians,*
My God stood by me.
He whispered His loving kindness into my bleeding heart;
His Words filled the holes in my soul.
He raised me up to enjoy the sweetness of His favor and grace.
He carried me on His shoulders,
High above the shadows of affliction and disgrace.
He placed my feet upon His Rock of safety.
My heart will continually dwell securely.
A conclusion:
Oh children of Jehovah;
Oh servants of the Most High;
Oh Bride of the Lamb!
Praise your King!
Praise your Deliverer!
Praise your God,
Whose love endures forever!
